Jazz up your AutoShapes by inserting a graphic inside of them. Start by inserting any AutoShape,
then format the shape and insert a photo.
This is a fun project for children. A variation of this project would be to make Christmas ornaments and hang them on your tree. This project can be printed on photo paper or a fabric (works the same as paper). You can purchase both paper and the fabric sheets at the office supply store. The fabric can be purchased at most craft and sewing stores.
How to:
- Insert AutoShape
- Move your insertion point to the location where you want your AutoShape, (click on the location with the mouse)
- Click on INSERT, Picture, from AutoShapes, click on the AutoShape, click on the type of shape you want, then click on the shape itself, then click on Insert, OK
- Format the AutoShape
- Click on the shape to turn it on
- Click Format, AutoShape, this will turn on the dialog box
- Colors and Lines
- Click on the Colors and Lines Tab, click on the Fill Color box then Fill Effects, click on the Picture Tab, Select Picture, scroll to the desired graphic and click on it to insert
- Add a Boarder to Your Pictures
- In the "Format AutoShape dialog box, click on the "Colors and Lines" Tab, click on the "Line" color box (If the Line box is not highlighted, click on the "Layout" tab and change to in front of text. You should see small circles on the outside of the picture. After adding the boarder, go back to the "Layout" tab and choose the desired Layout.)
- Click on a color (bright colors work well)
- Click in the dashed box and choose a line
- Click on the style and change
- Click on the weight and choose a weight, click on OK when finished
Print when finished. Cut out the shape and place into a cross stitch ornament frame. Hang on your
Christmas tree. Now you have a real "Family Tree!"
Have fun!
