This year for Christmas create personalized ornaments to hang on your tree. These ornaments also make a great gift for relatives and friends.
Individual head shots that have space around the head work well. You will also need photo paper and a color printer. The ornament frames can be purchased online at: Herrschners. I used the small oval shapes. Be sure to check the sizes before ordering, you will be adjusting the photo and AutoShape sizes according to the frame size.
Open Microsoft Word, click on Start, All Programs, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word. Photos should be digitized, (scanned into your computer) or already on a CD.
To scan photos directly into Word, place them into the scanner: Click on Insert, Picture From Scanner or Camera be sure the Device listed is your scanner click Insert (the will take a minute)
After the photo is inserted, you should format the picture by: Clicking on the picture to turn it on Click on the Layout tab Click on Infront of text Click on the Size tab height =3.0 and width = 2.25 (at least .25 inches wider for height and width)
Insert an AutoShape over the photo: Click on Insert, Picture, AutoShapes Click on the Basic Shapes and click on the desired shape (third option from the left) When the box comes up that says "Create your drawing here", click and drag the mouse someplace where the box is NOT (size and shape does not matter at this point) Save your work as "Ornaments".
