Vacation Movies

Spending quality time with your family is like a picture, it’s worth more than 1,000 words. After that vacation, spend time together creating movies from the pictures.

Now that summer is in full swing and you are planning or have just returned from vacation, what do you do with all those pictures? If you used a digital photo or movie camera, you can easily upload them to your computer and become the director of your own real life films.

With Microsoft Movie Maker 2, or other movie software, you can create movies in minutes. Still pictures can move by adding different transitions and video effects. Sound effects and voice narration can also be added. You can also combine movies with still pictures.

Creating a movie is fun, especially if the whole family gets involved. Children as young as four or five have all kinds of ideas that will make your movies more personal. Children love to see their pictures and hear their voices. They will become movie stars overnight. Every family member can record their voice and talk about something they particularly enjoyed about their vacation.

Once the pictures are uploaded and imported into Movie Maker, it is very easy to drag and drop photos to the timeline. With a little help from mom or dad, younger children can add transitions and effects.

Creating a movie is a great way to show off your pictures. After the movie is complete, save it to a CD or DVD, or even upload it to the web to share with other family members. When the children get older, they will love looking at their old movies with their friends.
